About the Scholarship

The Dan McKeever Scholarship Program provides grants to individuals who are pursuing a master's degree in orthotics and prosthetics. Each year the program will award $1000 to one deserving O&P master's degree student.


Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited O&P master's degree program as well as meeting the following criteria:

  • Demonstrate a financial need
  • Display leadership qualities
  • Contribute to their own education financially
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 3.0

How to Apply

Students may apply directly for the scholarship, or a professor may nominate them. To be considered for the award, students must submit the following:

  1. A completed application (form below)
  2. A letter of reference
  3. An official transcript from your current academic semester, and
  4. A 200-word essay addressing why on why they want to work in the orthotic and/or prosthetic profession.

Schools must send the official transcript by January 31 to submissions@opef.org.
